In this photo there are three galaxies all interacting with each other.
In the lower left you can see NGC 4631, also known as the Whale Galaxy; it is a barred spiral galaxy located in the constellation of Canes Venatici, about 25 million light years from Earth.
It is observed edge-on and has a strongly distorted structure, probably due to the gravitational interaction with nearby galaxies.
NGC 4627 is a dwarf elliptical galaxy located in the immediate vicinity of NGC 4631.
This small satellite galaxy is in gravitational interaction with the Whale Galaxy, contributing to its deformation and the generation of a bridge of matter between them.
At the top right you can see the galaxy NGC 4656, characterized by its elongated and distorted shape, it is a barred spiral galaxy that has undergone intense gravitational interactions, probably with NGC 4631 and NGC 4627.
NGC 4657 is actually a portion of NGC 4656, identified as a brighter and distorted region in the terminal part of the galaxy.
